Legionnaires Disease - an avoidable problem
Scarcely a week goes by without someone contracting Legionnaires' Disease in the UK. This article puts the risk into perspective and offers advice on managing it.
The risk of catching Legionnaires' Disease is small compared to other life-threatening pneumonias or other daily hazards. In 2002 there was 258 reported cases in the UK resulting in 22 deaths, though it is accepted that these figures significantly underestimate the true incidence as not all cases are reported.
