We remain mindful on all projects of how life-cycle carbon emissions can be reduced, from the specification of low embodied carbon equipment and materials to passive design solutions, to actively reducing a building’s operational carbon emissions (and in some cases achieving Operational Net Zero Carbon).

A solution we have used on multiple projects recently is the provision of CO2 heat pump technology to generate hot water. Shifting from gas-fired boilers to electrically-fuelled heat pumps has helped to significantly decarbonise hot water generation and in turn, reduce building carbon emissions.
